Shiftless Shuffle @ Duke’s Sunday 17th August featuring DJs Colin Curtis and Perry Louis. Wow, that was just pure CLASS. Our excitement grew when we arrived at the venue yesterday to find Janet Crowe and Colin Curtis already there, ready for what was to come, and what was even more exciting was that they didn’t know just what they’d let themselves in for. Colin danced as he played and was totally locked into the vibe and killer dancing on the floor. Perry was like a kid in a candy shop, smiling all the way after a longish absence from the Shiftless decks. Great to see the extended Jazz Family in attendance including Andrew D. Rattigan from Dublin who brought some friends along to share his passion and meet the family. Also a big shout to Daisuke Yasiro Takemasa who came all the way from Osaka and not forgetting our own Tamayo Yamano from Tokyo who got involved like she had never been away. We had some newcomers there including Jen Jenny B Marquis-Brown who was blown away just as we were, and we just have to say a massive thank you to the faithfuls and regulars who continue to make Shiftless as it is. We’re already looking forward to our next Session on Sunday 21st September which will feature DJs Nick Hosier and Kev Beadle. Shiftless Shuffle is the official Launch Party for Kev’s new compilation “Kev Beadle presents Private Collection Vol 2” which is out on BBE Records. The first 50 of you through the Shiftless door will be receiving a free copy of his CD so COME EARLY! We’re already excited about that session and, yep, you’ve guessed it. Reeeeeespeccct.
