BIRMINGHAM LUXURY SOUL WEEKENDER MAY 2011 ERIC BENET LIVE !!!



We're delighted to announce that Neo-Soul superstar Eric Benet will be appearing at our 16th Luxury Soul Weekender taking place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th May. Eric will be performing on Saturday 28th May.

Eric Benet is nothing less than a soul superstar whose latest album 'Lost In Time', featuring duets with the likes of The O'Jays' Eddie Levert, Faith Evans and Ledisi, has been a huge critical and commercial success. He has also been nominated for three Grammy awards. Since 1996, Eric has released five albums of exquisite soul music and his 1999 single 'Spend My Life With You' was a US number one and was certified gold, and nominated for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group along with a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album Male.

Eric Benet made his solo debut with 1996’s ‘True To Myself’ and instantly came to the attention of soul fans with the single ‘Spiritual Thang’ from the album. Prior to this his he recorded with a family group Benet and delivered a couple of superb vocal tracks for jazz fusion keyboard star Jeff Lorber.

In 2004 following a difficult time in his life, the singer released his third and pensive album ‘Hurricane’. It featured the song ‘Pretty Baby’ which became a featured song on ‘The Sound Of Jazz FM’ when the station relaunched in October 2008. His next album ‘Love & Life’ arrived in September 2008 and featured the smash ‘You're The Only One’, which spent 4 weeks straight at #1 on Urban AC radio and was declared song of the year by Ralph Tee on Jazz FM and later covered by UK soul star Mica Paris. The CD debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and garnered two Grammy nominations—including Best R&B album.

Eric’s latest album is the passionate, playful and heartfelt, ‘Lost In Time’, released in 2010 and is a love song to the love of making sweet soul music. “I want people to remember what music is and what it can feel like. There’s so much to be depressed about right now and I think this more so than ever that you need to remember how good it feels to get back to the real. People just need to have some feel good R&B in their lives". The album became the most popular soul album of 2010 making Eric Benet man of the moment on 2011 and the artist everyone wants to see and hear perform live.
