Ron-Le-Bass (Ronle Rouse), born and raised on the beautiful island of St Eustatius, was introduced to music at a young age, growing up in a very musical family. He started to play the bass guitar at the age of 15, and since then it’s been all about the bass. Ronle started off as a bass player in zouk and soca bands in St. Eustatius . Meanwhile Mechanical Engineering Studies brought him to The Netherlands. But after two years it was clear to him: Ronle only wanted to make music.
In 2006 he was accepted at the Conservatorium of Rotterdam. Next to that, Ronle started playing for a Tribute to playing Bob Marley and joined Ziggi, Holland's number one reggae artist. From 2006 till 2009 Ronle played throughout Europe with Ziggi. During this period he also worked with other artists, like Richie Spice, Gyptian, Ali B and GMB.
In 2008 Ronle continued his music studies at the Albeda Musician-Producers College. Here he broadened his musical horizon with music production, live recordings and mixing.
Ronle got inspired to produce an album of his own. Most of the songs were born out of a bass groove, and then keys, guitar and drums were added by top musicians, like Alvin Lewis, Patrick Mijnals and Marcus Machado. Add some of Holland’s finest vocalists, like Soniq, Shirma Rouse, Phatt, Raquel Brown and Jordy van Toornburg.
The album “Pure Groove” takes you on a journey through the 80’s and 90’s with a mix of funk, soul, R&B and hiphop. Pure groove is also a gathering of 20+ musicians and artists, who wanted to share their love for pure music. The message of Pure Groove is to bring people together through music: Music makes the world go round.
Pure Groove was released in april 2011 with a smashing live performance at Rotown Rotterdam. No less than 17 (!) bandmembers and vocalists entered the stage on this memorable night. After that performances for Radio 5, Radio 6, North Sea Round Town, Soulit and Magneetfestival followed. On top of that there is a growing interest from the UK and Germany.

Pure groove is all about the joy that music can bring to people. It is a diverse album that takes you on a journey through the 80’s and 90’s. Inspired by great musicians like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross, Pure Groove offers different styles like funk, soul, r&b, and hip hop. Some of Holland’s finest artists and musicians like Soniq, Shirma Rouse, Phatt, Raquel Brown and Jordy van Toornburg, Alvin Lewis, Patrick Mijnals and Marcus Machado are featured on the album. But also talented young artists Poliana Vieira, D-Luzion and Flame delivered great contributions.
